Variedad de Pelo Corto : El pelo es corto y pegado en todo el cuerpo, ligeramente más largo cuando presenta capa interna (entrepelo); se permite escacés en la garganta y en el abdomen. Es ligeramente más largo en el cuello y en la cola, corto en la cara y las orejas; es brillante y su textura suave. No se aceptan los ejemplares sin pelo.

AUNQUE ES UNA SOLA VARIEDAD DE PELO SE PUEDEN RECONOCER TRES TIPOS DE PELO CORTO:

PELO CORTO SIN CAPA INTERNA. LA COLA TENDRA MENOS PELO Y PUEDE LLEGAR A HABER ESCASÉZ DE PELO EN LAS OREJAS, LA GARGANTA Y EL ABDOMEN.

PELO CORTO CON CAPA INTERNA. QUE HARA UNA GOLA EN EL CUELLO Y UNA COLA CON MÁS PELO.

Y EL PELAJE SIMPLE Y LISO, MUY CORTO COMO LO PUDIERAMOS ENCONTAR EN EL DOBERMAN PINSCHER.


LA COLA COMO DE RATA SIN PELO NO ES CORRECTO PARA UN CHIHUAHUEÑO.
LOS EJEMPLARES DE COLOR AZUL PUEDEN LLEGAR A PRESENTAR LA DISPLASIA FOLICULAR QUE ES UNA FORMA DE ALOPESÍA (FALTA DE PELO) EN LAS OREJAS, LA FRENTE Y EL CUELLO.
ES UNA ANORMALIDAD DEL PELO Y EL FOLÍCULO PILOSO CAUSADA POR LA DILUSIÓN DEL COLOR Y TIENE BASE HEREDITARIA EN LA MEDIDA EN QUE SE TRANSMITA EL COLOR AZUL.
